May 30, 2023 - Decidedly more new-world than the 2016, with lots of fruit-forward dark berry. Has really great acidity that keeps it lively and balanced, with a wash of juicy fruit across the palate on the finish.

April 9, 2022 - I thought this was a pretty nice wine. Nose has red and blue fruits with some subtle savory characteristics. The palate is mostly fruit forward, same profile as the nose. Definitely some tannin action going on but not distracting. Acidity is definitely higher than I anticipated. I think it’s a nice bottle of wine and if probably buy some more. I don’t mind trying something like this.

December 15, 2021 - I love Cristom and Cristom loves this wine. When you visit they like to show it off, talk about it, yada yada yada. They are very proud of it clearly. But stick to Pinot guys. This wine came across as a nice pleasant unfocused mush of various red fruits earth and a little oaky spice. The characteristic savory and garrigue elements found in the Rhone were nowhere in my bottle. This is just a nice red wine.

But so what? What's the point? They sell it for Hermitage prices (ok maybe higher end Crozes; Hermitages have gone bonkers) but it lacks the flavor profile. "We're creating our own PNW flavor profile" I heard someone say on a recent visit to the winery. Seriously?! OK thats great. Good for you. But leave me out.

August 14, 2021 - Very high-toned and even relatively lean the first night. After a few days In half bottle it fleshed out a great deal, maybe even swaying to the stewed side. Great acidity. Withholding score as I'm perplexed by the broad evolution.
