October 11, 2023 - So I bought a cellar; 11/12/2022-12/31/2030: Brought to dinner at Foreign & Domestic in Austin TX. First, I taught the waiter how to use an ah so. Which this cork, while in good shape, needed, as it was soaked about halfway up. But it popped without issue, and even in the restaurant, sitting at the counter, the red fruit aromas were there. Upon pouring, it looked in great shape - nice mostly transparent red, with only slight bricking. A great red fruit nose, with no mustiness at all. Did not decant. On the palate, there was more red fruit, with raspberry and cherry, mixed with a hint of earth. The fresh fruit dominated the palate. No cola, no olive, but high acidity, ever so slight tannins and great flavors. It was well balanced, and a testament to good CA pinot. I think if blind, I would have called an older CA pinot, but probably 10 years old rather than 20. A really fun experience in a great small restaurant.

November 28, 2022 - Bright cherry and grass nose. Still fresh and tannic with big grass and cherry fruit body. A nice wine, pretty classic.

March 23, 2019 - Brick red color. Bouquet of strong damp forest floor, mushroom, leather, black cherry and lavender. Some juicy blackberry fruit is still hanging around. Mature flavors of tobacco, tea leaf, cola, smoke, slight toasty oak, cinnamon, cranberry and allspice. Nice, drinks well but not at the same level as a recent 2003 Kistler.
