June 19, 2021 - Almost opened 10 years ago or so. Tore the wrapping around the cork but then put it back in the cellar. Was wondering if it was still good. Glad I waited. Fist was tangy and sharp. Knew it would open up. It did. Now soft and resolved tannins. Fresh cherries (after all these years) rose pedals, raspberries. A sweetness. A hint of chalk.

May 20, 2018 - Sadly, this has turned into a hot oaky mess. Will try last bottle soon to see if the bottle or the wine. (76)

November 19, 2016 - Bottle 5733 of 6123. Ruby red center with orange rim. The nose was a typically expressive Kosta Brown nose of cherry, raspberry, orange blossom, and a hint of celery. This wine still has a lovely palate of raspberry, cherry, smoke, rhubarb, and a chestnut/barrel note. The acidity maintains this medium-bodied wine's balance, so while there is ample fruit, the acidity keeps it lively through the long finish. Overall, I feel this might be the best wine Kosta Browne has made. It has maintained the wonderful fruit from its youth without compromising its balance as it aged.

(Kosta Browne Pinot Noir Koplen Vineyard) Medium dark cherry red color with pale meniscus; big VA, caramelized apple and sour cherry nose; hot, Zin-like, tart berry, black cherry palate; medium finish (in the picture, it was what was in the Alcina bottle)
