Community Tasting Notes 10

February 19, 2013 - I listened to the feedback here and waited! It was worth the wait (I'm fortunate enough to have a wine room to be able to do so.). We opened the first of six bottles tonight and were very pleased. As my wife says, it has a distinctive old world taste, rather dry, but fruity. A refined wine. Pleasant nose. We drank it with a pork butt roast, and it was a fine match.

June 27, 2010 - I agree with everyone else. Big, big tannins and massive fruit. Really intense! I decanted for several hours and it did improve, but I wish i'd waited. Let this settle down a bit more before you open it. A very pleasant experience awaits if you can be more patient than I.

May 24, 2010 - still a battle between over-extracted (IMO) fruit and tannin. WAIT, WAIT

September 28, 2009 - Agree that this is not a good time to drink this. Should've read these comments and held it.

September 10, 2009 - This bottle was stored in a non-ideal situation for 2 years, and so i tested it to compare to a previous tasting that I found totally off. In contrast, this bottle was much more evolved and less 'extracted'. On the second night the tannins became more desicating, but overall still not where it needs to be. Wait another 1-2 years and revisit. HOLD -- and hope.
