November 12, 2023 - This is coming together very well. Fully integrated now, with nice fruit and soft tannins. Lovely!

September 12, 2023 - Quick decant. Layers of dark cherries with a touch of kirsch and raw meat juices. Smooth and polish black fruit palate followed by a pile of rosemary, black plum, light acidity, and minerals. Cherry fruit and light earthy tannins on the finish with strong garrigue and a long, lingering, meaty acidity.

June 25, 2023 - Decanted for an hour. I wish California made more Syrah like this...
Wet wool, bramble, ripe black cherry, ripe raspberry, ripe bluebery and bacon grease on the nose. The palate is totally different. The same three fruit flavors are present; but now they're complimented by fresh oregano, chamomille tea, ginger, eucalyptus, lavender, chalk and colatura di alici note. Overall a lot of umami on the palate. The only real oak flavor is a note of coffee grounds on the finish. Great intensity of both flavors and aromas; though the palate is more complex.
Medium + body, soft medium tannin, medium acid. Excellent minute long finish. If you have multiple bottles; definitely drink one now. But no one will fault you for aging the rest 2-5 more years either to see how they devlop. -

September 20, 2022 - 90 minute decant. Rustic black cherry and black raspberry fruit on the nose, along with some dried herbs. Deep, smoky, and dry black plum fruit flavors with smoked ham hock and dried oregano. Relatively soft tannins given the palate with minerals and acidity that fades into rocky flavors, though the minerals seem to linger. Drinking well but can certainly hold longer given the big palate.

September 13, 2020 - Nice nose. A little austere and edgy at this time. However great structure and sure another year will benefit it.
