October 2, 2009 - Weird. Cali version of Spanish grape used primarily for blending, I think. Blind would have guessed Aussie shiraz. Big with alot of blackberry fruit. A bit hot. Improved and developed menthol and pepper notes after the first night. A little bit flabby. Fans of this style will like the wine better than I did.

July 19, 2008 - Dark purple - could pass for Cab. Moderate fruit up front on the nose with additional floral scents and smoke notes, loam & garrigue, a little burnt bacon. Palate confirms the dark fruits with a medium-big body, medium acidity, fine tannin with little oak presence. Rich, lengthy finish. Somewhat hot, but it's really in support of body, not a detractor. (5+11+16+8) = 90
