July 7, 2009 - Definitely the best Armenian pomegranate wine I've ever had. ;) Actually, it's not bad at all. More of a fruity sweetness than pure sugar, it's not bad for dessert.

August 16, 2008 - Color like an old brick-like Bordeaux. Very tight nose. The taste a mix of pomegranate and cherry cough medicine. Mercifully short length.

October 24, 2007 - My girlfriend bought this from Whole Foods - and it is what it is. Having never had a pomegranate wine before, I have little to go on. The color was a brownish red, and I the nose was fairly difficult to read. However, the initial mouth showed pure pomegranate - started with a hint of sweet but turned pretty quickly to the typical tart flavor you get when eating a pomegranate. I actually thought it was fairly decent...would I go out and buy more? Probably not, but nevertheless, it was pretty much what I expected and maybe even better.

April 18, 2007 - My first experience of pomegranate wine. Technically, this is not a "Red Blend," as indicated above, but per label is made from 100% pure squeezed pomegranate juice. But pomegranate was not available on the list of varietals when creating this wine.
Abv 12%. The colour is not so much red as dark rosé. The colour looks like red cool-aid or Hawaiian Punch. There is a very aromatic nose (very pleasant), more pungent and expansive than wine from grapes. The aroma is tart and astringent and cherry-like. You can smell the pomegranate, to be sure. The flavour is, at first, unpleasant and odd. The aroma is rather more pleasant than the flavour, which is a bit like old cool-aid or oxidized Hawaiian Punch. The unpleasantness of the flavour continues and does not subside, unfortunately. Below average.
