Community Tasting Notes 11

December 10, 2023 - Blissfully accurate Roero Nebbiolo of uncommon drinkability. The contents of the bottle evaporated.
It starts perfectly expressive, ripe, and lean; no kind of grand statement. Really nice attenuated surge of sappy Nebbiolo flavor (rose, truffle, fennel, pie berry) impels a long, textured finish. Very transparent; roasted yellowness. Slathered with animating fruit saccharides. Grippy. Edged with broken earth crust. Crudely adorned with violet and rose. Crumbled, dry earth. Beef. Iron. Utterly identifiable.

March 27, 2023 - Forward tannins, stewed plums, crème brûlée, hints of cherry. Earthiness and wet hay on the palate. Not sure this has the right “legs” to come into its age. This may be as good as it gets. Recommended with food.

August 31, 2022 - Rough, simple. Decant for a week and eat with a fatty meal.

July 17, 2022 - Day 1: PnP, Lovely nose, very floral, red fruit, but the tannins were entirely too strong and overwhelmed the palate.
Day 2: The balance is getting better, rose, raspberry, cherry, even cocktail cherry on the nose with hints of tar and leather, and the palate is more relaxed.
    Day 3: Let’s see.
I want to give this wine more points, but it’s just so unwielding.

July 14, 2022 - Transparent red color. High OH on the nose. Earthy and tannic. Not bad.
