  April 14, 2021 - Sometimes when drinking a beautiful glass of Loire chenin blanc, I think all other white wine grapes on the planet must be jealous-yes I'm talking to you chardonnay. Nothing else so effortlessly conveys ripe fruit, a host of complementary aromas and flavors, rippling acidity and textural excitement, to say nothing of food-friendliness. I think if I could only have one white wine this would be it. I don't mean this specific wine, oh you know what I mean...
  
  A medium gold color, nose of bold orchard fruits, honey, butter and minerals. Medium-bodied with a lush mouth-coating texture that is never heavy, resolving in a dry taut finish that still somehow carries a mineral streak and appealing orange citrus flavors right to the end. All of this excitement and just 12.5% alcohol, so you know what, I will have another glass, even on a Tuesday night.

  March 17, 2020 - From La Roche de Murs, vineyard close to a Loire river tributary just south of Angers. Ripe and pure aromas of honey, quince, and chamomile. Fairly full-bodied, with excellent ripeness and concentration, balanced alcohol, embedded acidity, and tingling minerality. Truly outstanding chenin! And it might be the first time that sympathetic La Grange aux Belles perform at such lofty levels of quality. (Disclaimer ITB with Swedish importer Vin & Natur).
