April 26, 2011 - Dark maroon color. Blackberries, blueberries, pepper, and licorice, with a big earthy overlay on the nose. Medium body with ripe, fully integrated tannins and nice acidity. Nice length on the finish with a bit of cherry and plums taking over for the darker fruits. The earthy spiciness intermingles with the fruit giving the finish nice zip. Drinking very nicely right now, but this could last a couple more years in the cellar, but I don't think there will be further improvement.

March 27, 2010 - beautiful dark ruby colour, ripe plum with undertones of dark berry fruit. Lush fruit entry, all dark and ripe, giving way to some earth and wood, the tannins are fine and in perfect balance. Acid might drop off just a bit, but the fiish is long if slightly rustic. I'm drinking this straight from the cellar and a bit cool, but quite lovely.
As it warmed up it just got better. More integration, rounder flavours, and a bit less rustic than when it was first open and cooler. Ever so slightly reminiscent of a soft merlot.
The next day this fattened up by another point and was really a wonderful wine, the fruit became riper, with some stewed prunes and raisin coming through as well, but in a balanced way with the acid and tannins, which seemed to really settle in and play nice.

February 16, 2010 - yes it's better this time... this wine has a great future... Terrrific fruit, some smoky notes. Very good balance. Hey, everybody stop drinking your malbecs so young!

August 25, 2009 - Great dark colour. Nose of dark fruit and leather...hint of mint. Tasty and medium body. Very well made to have such complexity for a modest price. And very good value

December 29, 2008 - Lots of funk on the nose, along with earthiness and black cherries. On the palate, loads of dark, plush fruit and some light tannins. 30 sec finish with loads of spice & tons of oak.
