Community Tasting Notes 4

December 17, 2007 - South American Wine Blind Tasting (Tango Sur Restaurant, Chicago, IL (Northside)): Sight: Appealing dark and sensuous color

Nose: Some heat on the nose - also some type of "off smell" that later blew off

Taste: Real good taste. Coke, cherry, dark red and black tree fruits. Burned toast.

Overall: Just a very nice wine. 91 points

December 17, 2007 - south of the border night (tango sur, chicago IL): nose: nice soft fruit forward nose. soft cherry, floral notes, blueberry, and slight hints of strawberry

taste: very smooth and silky on the mouth. cherry, strawberry, and floral notes mostly on the mouth

overall: I like this. it's a really interesting wine with some really good polish on it

December 17, 2007 - South American Wine Tasting Diner (Tango Sur, Chicago, IL): Pinot Noir 60% Malbec 40% Argentina. Lots of cherries and toasty heat on the nose and palate. Nice suppleness in the flavors, decent finish.

April 21, 2007 - good but not overwhelming nose gives way to a flabby blackberry taste which is not the best result one would expect from pinot noir in Patagonia. Maybe with time this will become more nuanced and subtle. The acidity is a bit lacking suggesting that this should have been better two years ago. Good.
