Community Tasting Notes 5

June 17, 2023 - Nice floral nose - a bit too perfumed maybe. On the palate yellow fruits, a soft tropical touch and some soft greenish notes. Oak is still present. Soft creamy background. Nice elegant and silky acidity. In a good spot now, but no need to hurry. (IG)

January 8, 2022 - Light yellow colour. Zesty smell, not too acidic. Pefume flavours with a light floral scent. Once left to breathe it reminds me of a very floral grape similar to a viognier. Hints of elderflower.

October 8, 2021 - Lemon curd, quince, orange marmalade, linear yet mouth coating with a strong acid spine. Dry extract, good delineation and a remarkably long finish. Delicious!

June 22, 2020 - Only four months since I last tasted this, when it still seemed very young. Today it is really singing, elegant and intense, silky and precise, refined and long. Quite fabulous, and with a long and happy life ahead. Drink now - 2037.

February 27, 2020 - Still very young, younger than any other vintage of Baron de L I have tasted. The silky, honeyed character I am used to is starting to develop, but there are more primary notes too (lime zest, orange, lemon juice, passion fruit, vegetal notes), balance and weight (12.5% ABV) are impeccable, and then gentle bitters guide the flavours into the long finish. Needs time.
