November 10, 2022 - This has gotten to a nice place. The oak has integrated more fully and the darker Cab notes are speaking up. I imagine it should be in this lovely zone for 5-10 years. Fantastic value.

April 27, 2022 - Bang for the buck here, plenty of smoke and blackberries, full bodied, sweetness in your face, if not sophisticated certainly unbridled Californian; just sign the deal on that dotted line, will ya? 91+ point

February 12, 2021 - The second label for Ric Forman's winery, this savory and meaty Cabernet blend needs another few years to hit its stride, though it's plenty tasty for the money. Full in body; medium red in color; aromas of boysenberry, ribeye, and dried oregano. Flavors of sour blueberry, pencil lead, and bay leaf, followed by a round and dry finish with grainy tannins. Blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot, and 2% Merlot. 14.8% alcohol. Decant about an hour. The flagship wine has more density and push, but this is a worthy second wine for about $40 - absolutely no complaints here!

January 17, 2021 - What a great surprise. I can't believe I've never had this before. A terrific more classically styled CA Cab for a real good price. It certainly shows it's wood but not in that overt way so many Cabs do. There is more of a earth and tobacco sense here. Just a squig of green. A persistent dark mocha note. Substantial feeling palate but not extracted and fat. Medium bodied and opaque. Without overt ripe fruit flavors. This sticks more in those secondary Cab areas. Classic cedar, tobacco, earth and cassis. Plenty of acidity. Light to medium tannin. The oak fades a bit by night two. Not a lot of depth here but this should certainly hang around for a decade no problem. It drinks really well right now. I don't know how this is related to Forman's main work. His name is called out online but not really on the label. Will seek more. A very strong value for a 21st century Napa Cab.
