March 26, 2024 - Very interesting. To me it both smells and tastes like sherry. We had the bottle over two days. It becomes significantly more full bodied over the hours after opening. I would recommend letting it air for 12-24 hours before drinking. Can be served quite cold. Not sure what food to pair with. Can easily be enjoyed alone. Enjoyed this wine!

February 23, 2024 - Always pretty nasty upon opening. Wet wool and dirty barrel notes. But a half hour in things always change. In my experience with these I find it best to have a half a glass on day one, a glass on day two and then three four and five. It’s absolutely fascinating of how this wine changes and crazy how it doesn’t really oxidize. I’ll update the next few days. Day 2: Not much different. oak and tannin a little bit of lime. Nuts. Delicious now but barely opening up. Mandatory its tasted at cellar temperature. Never made it past day 2…

December 2, 2023 - First encounter with the blanco. On opening, very high acid and sherry-like. Let it breathe for 5-6 hours and was drinking much better. I wasn’t a fan at first but it grew on me. Still don’t think I would seek this out. Went well with charcuterie. If you have any stinky or nutty cheeses on your board and marcona almonds, pop this open! Structure leads me to believe that you could hold onto this for many years.

November 9, 2023 - PnP. I have a hard time telling if Lopez whites are corked when poured or just funky but air usually resolves it. Nutty nutty nutty and funky. Florals along with a sharp and almost piquant kumquat skin. Walnuts. Saline. The palate is also very nutty and salty. Great grip with fruit skin and walnuts. Super tart citrus. Finish is citrus at first moving to nuttiness with bright acid and awesome grip. Wonderful. This was even funkier on day 2 when poured and needed a lot of time to work itself out. Give this lots of air and time. Nose: 5/6, Palate: 5.5/6, Finish: 5.5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi: 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.
