July 9, 2022 - Opened a few hours before drinking. A very pleasant and enjoyable Rioja. Good balance. Slightly dry on the finish.still very drinkable on Day 2

June 11, 2022 - A perfectly balanced Rioja that ticks every box for me. Pronounced black cherry and dark fruit with immense chocolate, vanilla, leathery spice, potpourri. Tannins are finely grained but still at least m(+), acidity m, flavour and nose intensity is high, and the finish is everlasting. It all just sort of melts together in your mouth, the alcohol doesn't even seem to be there at all. Loved it, wish I had more.

January 9, 2022 - Not sure why this producer and their Gran Reserva is dismissed by the CT community... Too modern in style? Contorting itself to match a Parker profile? Failing to retain true Rioja authenticity? Seems to be the pulse of reviews I read here...

To be clear, I do not purport expertise on Rioja (or anything else for that matter) but I know what I like. Old World is preferred over New World. Savory, earthy, mineral components are far more compelling than fruity, oaky, vanilla ones.

For those reasons, this wine is far more delicious and interesting than other reviews indicate. Further, the quality is such that this wine can be kept another 5-7 years gaining additional complexity.

Taste upon opening, and then seal up the remainder for the next day. On Day 2 this wine will reveal itself and allow you to make a balanced judgement. I'm curious to know if I'm alone in my assessment.
