June 4, 2022 - This wine keeps on impressing me whenever I drink it. Such a shame that it is not that easy to find where I live.
I’m usually not so much into dense and bold, but Kurni combines this with a complexity and elegance in its aromas that makes super exciting.
Deep ruby color, almost black at the core. Expressive aromas of blackcurrant, sour cherry and some strawberry, leather and hints of garam masala and eucalyptus. Full bodied and dense with bold but silky smooth tannins and balanced fresh acidity. The finish is very long and slightly dryining.
Drinking great right now, perhaps still a little fragmented. But ready to go right from the popping of the cork. I do believe it will become a little smoother with a couple more years, and likely will develop for many more years to come. I’d say drink now - 2032.
Matching perfectly with a grilled ribeye rubbed with a smoked pepper/garlic/aleppo pepper mix!
