March 28, 2024 - Petroleum infused lemon curd. The most complete riesling I’ve ever tasted. Rich and complex and dry and chalky at the same time. Threw off and cut through all dishes you paired it with. Amazing wine!

December 10, 2021 - Online Blind Tasting #10: What I wanted to drink: *** Note is based on 0,1l bottles filled about 2 days before the tasting from 0,75l bottle ***
    Glass: Zalto Universal
Clear, deep golden color. Clean, medium intense, developing nose. At the beginning some fine petrol, orange zests, herbs, warm, candied fruit. Deep, complex and a bit broad shouldered.
On the palate dry with some noticeable sweetness, that certainly comes partially from its high extract and the 13,5% abv, but I assume it will also have 4-6gr of residual sugar. Medium+ body. Candied fruit, pineapple, orange zests, intense mineral core. Lots of power and concentration, creamy and rich mouthfeel. Long finish. Serious wine, but it felt being “made” or “constructed”. Lacks freshness and precision. Potential? I doubt that it gets better. Certainly a very good Riesling, but it is not my cup of tea… 93

May 11, 2019 - “Ten Years After” 2009 Dry Riesling Tasting (Private Location): Even a bit riper than the normal Morstein from Wittmann, which often was a kind of "problem" back in the days, when ripeness was more important than anything else. But also very deep and nicely balanced. Very broad shoulders.

    May 11, 2019 - 10 years after Riesling tasting - 2009 (@Private location, Esslingen): Glass: Zalto Universal
*** just some brief notes, no full details, rating in context of the vertical tasting ***
Opened about 10h before, double decanted. Tasted blind.
Clear, medium golden color. A bit more focused and concentrated than the regular Morstein GG. Quite young, will certainly develop for at least 5+ years. 92-93

July 9, 2015 - Flight of La Borne 2012, 2011 and 2009 with Philipp Wittmann himself at a lunch at D'Vine Dusseldorf

exotic fruits in the palate, fullbodied wine but decent in the finish, the acidity is not that present as usually in GG German Rieslings for this age, but very pleasant to drink at this moment, the long finish showsripe yellow fruits as peaches and refreshing Yuzu fruit, 93-94, potential for another 5 years at least

Frisk syre.Sitter svært lenge i med nydelig mineralitet i utgang. Rik, men balansert vin.
