June 8, 2010 - OK with food, but I think I held it a bit too long. Red fruit, a bit of earthiness - not a whole lot going on but it worked on a Tuesday night with basic pasta.

March 13, 2009 - Decent, sour cherry. But a bit off balance. Acidic table wine, but worked fairly well with lasagna though. Update: smoother on day 2, no doubt. But off-putting, the way it disintegrates on the finish.

November 8, 2008 - Open one hour. Nose shows some graphite, wet clay, a couple cherries, and some heavily cooked vegetables. There's a bit of rubber on the mid-palate, as well as those vegies. Finish is a bit spicy, showing some heat, the taste of licking brass, some ground beef, and I'm left with some dry unpleasentness. The wine's not so bad on the nose, but falls apart on the finish.

September 12, 2008 - great with pizza (sammy's pepperoni - sausage). nice and light red wine. short finish, but pleasant and simple. not a complex wine, but with the earthy berries, its a decent wine to quaff over a simple meal.

April 18, 2008 - GREAT, different darn wine. I mean different. Very earthy tones on the nose. Tones of sparragus, artichokes, some chocolate on the palate, with a beautiful peppery finish. Tons of pepper on the finish. Beautiful acidity on this wine makes it a GREAT pizza wine. Awesome tanginess.

(Cantina Dolianova Monica di Sardegna Arenada) #4; COLOR-dark; NOSE-sour cherry; dirtiness; sweaty sock; green peppers; little spearmint on the finish; TASTE-very meaty; focused Black Currant on the mid-palate, but ends w/ a lame fake Starbucks coffee aspect on the finish; surrounded by light cherries; nice w/ pasta & finish; light, not too complex; mushroom-esque on the finish; GV-85
