June 28, 2023 - Cut lemons, freshly collected seashells, and grapefruit juice aromatics (in that order) immediately from the glass. Add in a twist of lime and some papaya for the palate, along with flinty minerals, cut grass, clipped basil, and sour lemon curd (MLF/oak) and you have a pretty concise tasting note for this wine. B+ (88) Eval.

November 17, 2021 - Catalan New World Wine Dinner (Catalan Tapas Bar (Cary NC)): 1st Wine served as part of the Catalan New World Wine dinner, paired with a simple seasonal salad of arugula, chilled sweet potato, toasted walnuts, chopped strawberries, queso fresco crumbles, all topped with a citrus vinaigrette. Was expecting high acidity from NZ and was shocked to get a well crafted wine that was partially fermented in French oak. B+ eval on the wine alone, toasty oak and creamy texture from the MLF with a nutty finish and some tropical fruit notes mixed in; more oak than fruit and what the MLF took from the acidity the oak makes up for in the structure so it doesn't fall flat. Really comes through with the dish- the oak and nuttiness of the wine went great with the toasted walnuts and earthy sweet potato, while the strawberries and citrus gave your palate a burst of acidity that brought out more tropical notes from the wine. A- (90) on the pairing, and I could see it working with seafood, crab meat and scallops jumped into my brain after tasting. Picked up 3 bottles after the tasting.

May 31, 2020 - A bit oaky, but the 2nd day that has gone.

May 15, 2020 - Clear, pale brass yellow with white rim and very sporadic, slow-moving blobs.
Clean, med+ intensity with aromas of white grapefruit, lemon, chamomile, sesame seeds, honey and green olives.
Dry, med body, med- acidity, light tannins, med- alcohol, with further tastes of green gages, banana, lime, burnt sesame, artichoke leaves, lemongrass and pine needles. Wonderful on the nose but the finish does not match up.
