October 1, 2016 - Okay . . . two years on since last note (6/14) and time to write another; surprised that nobody else has written a note on this since then.

Color: medium/light ruby (just barely translucent) -> light ruby rim with some garnet creeping in. Bouquet of kirsch, raspberries, vanilla, earth and a touch of smoke. This wine continues to age well. Not gloppy or over-the-top/jammy like so many Cali GSM's, this shows tremendous poise and balance. Cherries, spice, milk chocolate and enough acid to keep it fresh. This is *still* seriously good and still drinking great. 15.2% alcohol in check and not poking through on a long, really classy finish. This was a tremendously balanced wine on release and truly shows the importance of great balance for any wine's longevity to my mind. Two bottles left . . .

June 29, 2014 - I see it's been a year since I've tried this and the wine hasn't really changed too much (other than the color lightening up just a bit):

Color: medium/dark ruby -> light ruby rim with maybe a hint of garnet. Bouquet of kirsch, raspberries, and a little earth. This wine continues to age well. Not gloppy or over-the-top jammy like so many Cali GSM's, this shows tremendous poise and balance. Cherries, spice, cocoa and enough acid to keep it fresh, this is seriously good and still drinking great right now. 15.2% alcohol in check and not poking through on a long, really classy finish. Glad to have stocked up on this one when the price was right.
