  March 21, 2021 - Like a young natural Cotes du Rhone, in terms of a lighter but still textured body, with slight greenness. I wanted a tiny bit of VA to set it off, but it's really a great job here for the price. It seems this is the heavier of the estate's wines, which is a good sign that they don't want to make the same old Hungarian wine. Makes me want to try the Kadarka, which is lighter.

  January 31, 2020 - The new Szekszárd – Heimann Family Estate introduces their new lineup of red wines (Szekszárd, Hungary, Heimann cellar door): The entry level Kékfrankos. So pure and fresh compared to most Szekszárd reds, without a hint of heaviness. Just a bit of funk, but it’s quite precise. Some green aromas from the stem. Round, balanced, hardly medium-bodied, with the support of enough tannins. Not a complex wine, but such a pure rendition of the variety, and again, the focus is on drinkability and honesty.
