  June 22, 2022 - Our 1st Cahors malbec. The 1st of 6 recently acquired bottles and as well as it is drinking now this is not quite ready for prime time yet - huge and very tightly wound. At this point needs at least a 3-4 hour decant or better yet at least 5-7 more years. With proper ageing I can see this eventually being a 93-94 point wine. Enjoyed in Hickory NC at restaurant Fourk with an old friend of 50 years who is increasingly into wine. Very dark, fruit forward, full bodied does not do this justice - right now this wine is HUGE, somewhat acidic, very tannic and the balance, integration and softening will come with time. Very long aftertaste. Nose aromatic, intense and surprisingly sweet with dark stone fruit, stewed plum, dark cherry, coffee and a smokey finish. Oaky with bold intense flavors of dark stone fruit, blackberry, black pepper, earth, coffee and grilled meat with prominent tannins through out.

  August 13, 2021 - The club had a special on these and as I had not brought enough wine for the group for lunch we ordered a bottle. This is an easy drinking malbec with dark fruit on the nose and fruit, tobacco and leather on the palate. A moderate finish made it enjoyable.
