March 25, 2022 - Our first bottle of the Pilcrow Ghost Block, this was outstanding. As others have described, a somewhat more nuanced style of Napa cab, but absolutely packed with flavor and depth. Last fall we visited Napa and tasted many of the hottest "cult" cabs. This is right up there with all of them. Wonderful.

January 26, 2021 - As noted in a previous tasting note, this is a “lighter” Napa cabernet, agree very nice nose and finish (cherry). However at this price point, there are many other Napa Cabernets we would choose first.

July 21, 2020 - This is a cab that's suited to me. It embraces savory floral and herbaceous qualities of cab without being too extracted and has lovely soft fruit without being too ripe. It's not the prototypical California cab. It's on the lighter side but still has rich blue fruit notes. Powerful rose petal and fresh-picked blueberry with dried mint and thyme on the nose. Palate has juicy blueberry and blackberry with sweet tobacco and rose water. It has a fresh acidity to it which is by no means overpowering. It's still a little bit disjointed, but a year or two should fix that.
