December 15, 2018 - very nice with typical margraux aroma on the nose, oaky, violet with hints of fruits. however, it is a bit over oak on the palate with lack of complex structure, but it turns better after a few hours. long dry finishing. enjoyable but not too impressive for this value. good to drink now and dont think it has much aging potential.

May 24, 2017 - Classic margaux floral nose but a bit tight and tannic on the palate. I think this still needs plenty of time.
Lots of fruit and medium structure. Not the greatest vintage but not bad.

November 14, 2016 - Fine boned yes but not stingy as l had feared. Evovling pleasantly. Adequate ripeness. I think this may even acquire more charm over the next decade.

September 8, 2016 - Loved this wine! Decanter rated this wine a 95, so I had to try this. GREAT! Needs decanting. I would give this 2+ hours. Dark cherry, mineral hints, raspberry, slight pine cone. Very much Margaux typicity with elegant fruit and balance. Yet, this is ripe and tannins were managed in a tannic year. This wine is a steal and was exceptional for a 2006. Can cellar and get better. I'm going to buy more of this wine! For Margaux lovers.

July 20, 2016 - Great bouquet with plum and black berries, amazing body with mushrooms, tosted notes, woody oak moss and black chocolat. Drank in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

(Chateau Rauzan-Gassies (Margaux)) Rather a restrained style, a quiet but dark and smoky nose here. Just a little touch of sweetness to it, also a little tinge of tomato. A supple style on entry, soft with a fairly nice grip, a nice acidity, gently perfumed fruit too. Altogether quite an attractive if slightly loose-knit substance. Good fruit though, very fresh here, a firm acid backbone, slightly chewy tannins but not obtrusive and well covered by fruit. And it is attractive fruit, with a violet tinge. And a good robust finish. This needs time to come together but credit where credit is due, this is a good effort.

(Chateau Rauzan-Gassies Margaux) Bright fruit and toasty oak here. Polished, slightly plump in style, but with appealing aromatics, smoky charcoal. The palate has less substance than a number of other wines especially at the second growth level (although to be fair this was tasted in a room full of other wines from the superb 2005 vintage), with a slightly juicy, loose-knit element to it. A ripe, gentle substance, slightly fleshy texture, and a good tannic core, this certainly shows the good results of recent efforts at Gassies, although it still lags behind its peers. Good grippy finish though. An interloper in a Bordeaux 2005 tasting.

(Chateau Rauzan-Gassies Margaux) The aromas of nutty oak and slightly meaty fruit here, with a rather diffuse fruit alongside. Soft and approachable on the palate, with gentle appeal. Soft forest fruits, gently grainy tannins beneath, this wine has some good points but it has less focus than the corresponding Rauzan-Ségla, and also a shorter finish.
