April 13, 2024 - Needed some air time to let off the alcohol. Balanced mild to moderate tannins. Paired well with meets.
It won’t last much longer in a cellar I’m afraid

January 28, 2024 - I understand better now why some have not liked this as much as me. My first bottles were fine, but the last was flawed and this one could be too - rather bitter and with much more austere tannins than before. Not corked, but very different compared to the previous bottles.

September 12, 2023 - Delicious wine (cherries, smoke, red fruits), but be aware: I uncorked, and waited for 2,5 days (!) before the wine opened up. Maybe I should have decanted, but I prefer to revive older wines calmly in the bottle. Too much air often frightens them off!

September 7, 2023 - 0.375 L bottle at restaurant "Schwarzer Hahn" early Sep 2023: opened approx. 45 minutes before serving; deep dark rubin red color; started with a funky barnyard nose that quickly passed into an intense bouquet of dark and red berries, Amarena cherries plus dark chocolate and tobacco notes; on the palate dark fruits within a slightly coarse and austere texture; full body. 90-91/100

Surprisingly low level of 12.5% vol. alcohol stated on the bottle.

August 3, 2023 - Nice older Bordeaux in its drinking window, if a bit austere as the fruit has dropped and there is still some tannin along with the usual tertiary stuff like cedar, leather, cigar. Great with grilled steak.
