Community Tasting Notes 40

October 3, 2023 - Tuesday after dinner drinks in the neighbourhood. Tasted blind. Drank in Conterno Sensory.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose medium+ intensity, with aromas of mushroomy tertiary earth, green blackcurrant leaf, fading black fruits. Developed.
On the palate, dry, medium acidity, medium alcohol (13%), resolved medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of mushrooms, tertiary earth, bit of leather, fading blackcurrant and blackberries. Long finish.
Very good quality. Simple straightforward Left Bank Bordeaux. As good as it gets already. Starting to lose steam. Drink up.

January 1, 2019 - Dark Ruby, moderate legs. Subtle aroma of dark fruit on the nose. Light, bright mouth feel with some effervescence. Dark fruit and cherries and figs on the palate. Moderate spicy finish. It took several hours to open up and dissipate the heat/alcohol. Nice bottle that went well with tenderloin.

December 23, 2018 - Good but not great. One dimensional and not sure if time would have helped as the bottles was finished the first night with the help of friends.

November 12, 2018 - A bit straight forward, but decent concentration and starting to open up.

November 11, 2018 - Yves's Memorial; 11/10/2018-11/11/2018 (MO): A little thin, with harsh tannins in the for. Still needs to integrate the tannin, but may always be a little "foursquare" as the fruit is clearly in the background.
