April 16, 2020 - This Riesling was beautiful on the nose, with aromas of canned peaches and sweet pea flowers. On the palate were fairly restrained flavours of lemon and green apple. It also had some more artificial flavours of peach soap or a fruity body spray that a teenaged girl might have used in the 90s. Flavours improved slightly on day 2, with the artificial flavours dissipating. Acidity wasn't too high for a Riesling so I would drink this now. I would have loved to see more progression on the palate. It's hard not to assign a high value to Fort Berens wines even when I don't really enjoy them, since they're so reasonably priced, but for the prices I would steer someone toward their Riesling Reserve (just a few bucks more) or the plain ol' Riesling if you're looking for a bit of residual sugar.
