December 14, 2022 - Day 1: PnP and up from a cold cellar. As it warms in the glass, presents a proper barbera with good balance, lively acidity, and a medium + finish. Slight savory notes too.

August 3, 2021 - In Piedmonte, Barbera is the weekend wine. Dolcetto being the weekday wine and Nebbiolo, such as Barolo or Barbaresco, being only for special occasions. This one is delightfully recognizable as a Barbera. While it may not have the character of top end Italian Barberas, it more than makes up for that by being supremely balanced. That Barbera tartness and acidity is certainly present. As are the fruit, while the tannins are not pronounced. But they should not be. Pleasantly surprised, though overpriced here in Europe.
