June 8, 2014 - This wine was, in its prime, a terrific wine. I saved this bottle for our former neighbors and finally got to drink it with them. It was still drinkable, but the fruit and tannins were mostly gone.

January 19, 2008 - Popped and poured. This wine exhibited a light garnet color. On the nose, aromas of prunes, dried dates and cherries were joined by floral and spice notes with hints of stewed tomatoes. On the palate, a medley of dried black fruits and spices were joined by notes of smoked meat on the finish. Nice, firm tannins with a good amount of acidity. Definitely not one to quaff by itself, rather enjoy this with some nice cheese or with something for the acidity to cut through. HS88
