October 31, 2021 - Big wine but not overly alcoholic or fruit bomb. Double decanted 2 hours. Somewhat muted bouquet, which was disappointing. Dark red, slightly aged border, but not brick-like. Fruit dominant (blackberry) with a small amount of tannins. Decently balanced. Dry yet hint of sweetness. Lacked complexity. Mid to heavy mouthfeel. Still very young. Try again in 5+ years.

July 14, 2021 - Dark garnet. Ripe rich and bold with lots of oak, bakery spices, dark fruit, roasted aromas. Really modern and a crowd pleaser but also with good freshness and luckily no overripe tones.

February 27, 2021 - The Papies join the 10,000 Tasting Notes Club; 2/25/2021-2/27/2021: Needs a bit of decanting to get it in its full stride and once there this is a superb wine and once again reminds us what great wines are made in off-ish vintages by this great estate.big wine for sure, with a dark fruit and a dark edge all along , soft smoky too. Bright and energetic, well balance and with another 20 years of great drinking life ahead. A great 93 now but with lots of possibility to improve

September 12, 2020 - this was a much better bottle than the last - quite a big wine that needs time in the glass - would decant for at least a couple of hours - leave but has good potential

July 30, 2020 - something odd about this bottle - maybe a touch of premox - not rated
