Second tasting of this august vintage. The bouquet is consistent, subtle yet complicated. Not every sip is powerful, but some are; all have interest.
To be drinking a wine of this maturity from this particular maker is a poetic experience. Not for the faint of heart. And definitely not for a large dinner group: this wine needs to be thought about, contemplated; drink it solo or with an intimate. Don't try to entertain with it; you'll miss what it's saying... -

December 9, 2013 - More brownish than orange on the rim. cardboard and leather some smokiness mingle with currant. Acidity still present. not a lot in the glass to get a real good taste.
