March 23, 2024 - Deep dark reddish-purple bordering on opaque in color. Full, forward, & fragrant aromas of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, blackberries & some cassis with overtones of dusty/earthy & spice notes of pepper & cloves, herbs, cocoa, minerals & a hint of oak/vanilla in the background. Full bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & plums with cocoa, herbs, minerals & a hint of vanilla/oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present with decanting & extended airing but should develop further with additional aging. I cannot envision this wine rating an "85" unless it was an off bottle.

March 16, 2024 - Alright Freemark, I see you and hear you. I thought you were going to be the one I would be too shy to say hello to, but you are much more approachable than I thought. I thought I would need to pick you up in a limo, but you are ok with my Rav4. I was looking for reasons to dismiss you as too good for me, but it turns your what I was looking for all along. Like the Neofuturists' play from Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind "The Idea if Yiu" by Dave Awl:

"There was a momentary pause as you handed over the receiver, and then a voice came on the line that reminded me of you but without those annoying glitches and halts. We talked for a few minutes in what felt like a carefree, ideal way; and then the Idea of You asked to speak to the Idea of Me. I asked for clarification of this bizarre suggestion — and it asserted that the Idea of Me was too sensitive and intelligent to reject the human imperfections of someone I loved.

Sensing that I had somehow dropped the ball, I nobly stepped aside, so that the Idea of Us could live happily ever after."

February 3, 2024 - Poor glasses. Red fruit nose. Lightly flavoured, surprising high level of acid.

December 27, 2023 - Probably a bit too young but I don't like it. Tannins are overwhelming, all other flavors are fine but not interesting

Perhaps in 5 years I'd like it more that I tend to doubt it

November 19, 2023 - Three hour decant before first sips was not enough. Open this in the am for a evening dinner.

    Thick, unctuous, purple goodness.
Smacked in the gave with red fruit, hints of acetone, oak and vanilla. Dark berry store bought pocket pie. Jam bomb awaits...
Sticky, jammy, mouth coating goodness. It was not until the last glass that I got the best experience ( thus the warranted extra decant time). Also, ideal drinking temperature was about 67-68 degrees.
Really nice juice that should improve with age. Great with today's seared steak and wilted spinach dinner.

I'll buy a couple more bottles to store as future cellar defenders.
