November 19, 2023 - Nose of faint petrol
Palate was grassy and minerals. Was the bottle warmed up it became sweet.

March 24, 2023 - Quite wonderful again. The complexity on the palate is stunning. At times citrus fruit, sweet but also with lively acidity. At times salinity comes to the fore, but never too strong and always playing with the sweetness. The nose is subtle and very fine, with mineral notes of wet rocks, herbal notes, but also tropical fruit.

May 24, 2022 - What can I say, similar to previous bottle, just an amazing wine for the price. Wish I bought more.

April 29, 2022 - This was good from the get-go. Beautiful nose of lime and lime peel, with minerals and white flowers and some green grass and herbs. The palate is light and fresh with excellent acid and lift. Nice lime and minerals. This is crisper and more complete than the 20’s I’ve had (both Falkenstein and other producers) and confirms my mixed feelings about that later vintage. Nice drive and precision all the way through. Long sharp and clean finish with lots of lime and minerality. Lovely. Nose - 5-5.5/6, palate 5.5/6, Finish - 5.5/6, Je be Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5-18/20.

February 26, 2022 - I decided to open a bottle of the highly acclaimed 2019 Meyer Nepal as I have actually only ever had it from magnum when a generous friend has shared. I thought the time was right to spend a little time with this wine and enjoy the electric youthful energy.
First and foremost, this is a wine of incredible purity. It is racy and bright with notes of lime, whipped cream, piquant empire apples, and sweet herbs. It evolved throughout the evening and the fruit rounded to notes of white nectarines with the most wonderful little flutter of florality that I don’t typically find of the wines from Niedermenniger.
Ultimately though, the purity and mineral core are what make this wine special. It speaks of the place from which it comes and from the attention and care of the Weber family.
Sometimes you have a wine that means more than just enjoying a delicious bottle. Wine is personal and can represent more than what is tasted or smelled. For me this was one of those nights and one of those wines. Life is good.
