Community Tasting Notes 3

  • ProperClaret Likes this wine:

July 6, 2020 - Absolutely singing. Electric upon opening, and ready to go immediately. Layers of honey, beeswax, old books, almonds, lemon, and the most piercing note of roasted and salted cashews I have ever tasted in a wine. Beautiful full yellow gold color. Fantastic acidity still. No hurries whatsoever on these bottles...while they may not improve further, they will hold here for at least another decade, probably longer. This is the finest white wine I have ever tasted, and there is no meaningful second in that contest.

March 7, 2017 - Purchased this bottle a year ago for nuts in a small retail store, expecting this one to be maybe oxidised because of the vintage and age, had some little hope cause of the healthy colour of this bottle, popped and poured, some bright golden colour showing some matury, fragrant aromas in the nose, white flowers, nuts, some earthy tones, starting with a very good saline fresh mouthfeel, all components balanced and persistent with some depth, nearly no fruit left, only a whiff of some ripe apricot, vanilla, peanut, ending long and tasty, with some more air this one is showing hints of tertiary aromas, drink up, very good bottle, ***+
