February 26, 2024 - Typical 1981 in that it was soft and balanced without setting the world on fire. Still nice sweet fruit and still amazes me how a vintage with little acidity, concentration or tannins has lasted as long as they have.

December 20, 2021 - At forty years of age, this was amazingly holding on to its color and what remained of its structure and fruits albeit diminished to being minimal, it was still presentable and while modest, was pleasant drinking, especially considering its age.

We double decanted this. It showed dark garnet colored, medium body with black berry and black cherry fruits turning to leather, tobacco and notes of black tea and tangy acidity on the modest finish.

September 19, 2014 - 81 - maybe a weak vintage of bdx. A bit dull and there is no material improvement during its three hours after opening. Light to medium bodied. Fruits has almost gone.

March 30, 2011 - Dark ruby red with mahogany hues. It has bouquet of dried cherry and smoke. Still pleasant to drink but not an exciting wines. It has mint, tobacco and dried cherry on palate. Soft and still got the acidity but lack of mid-palate and finishing.

October 26, 2008 - Deep red/brown colour, decanted for an hour before serving. Very pale at the edges in the glass, but not as much fruit as expected, this is probably past it's prime. Nice finish and a good wine overall though.
