February 20, 2015 - Nice nose of leaves, pinot fruit, and some oak. Big bodied burg with dark fruit and oaky overtones. Masculine, powerful, and dark.

October 25, 2013 - upon removal of capsule, I found some mold on top of the cork which I hoped was from the time in the cave prior to labeling and exporting to the US. The cork was otherwise in good shape and the wine seems unaffected. The wine is a deep plum color, quite opaque. At first the nose seemed sharp with some heat showing but it dissipated after I let the wine sit in the glass for 15 minutes. This is full and chewy for a burgundy, perhaps not (yet?) as soft as I would like in terms of mouthfeel. 30 minutes later, the nose on the 2nd glass is much more generous with an earthy profile. The bright red fruit is prominent in the mouth. Overall this is nice but I think a few more years in bottle will do it some good.
