October 4, 2021 - Kind of an overlooked wine region Vernaccia di San Gimignano was the first white wine to get DOC status. Organic and made with somewhat limited intervention the 2019 Fontaleoni has medium+ notes of acacia, floral stems, yellow apples. The palate has a fresh, yet still ripe, quality. The palate leads with fresh lemon and tart apples and transitions to a mid-palate of florals and minerals with a great sense of density. There’s a nice pliant nice to the palate that goes beyond a lot of the pleasant but austere Italian whites.

April 18, 2021 - Beautiful light golden color. The nose is bright....citrus, apple, pear. But the floral speaks over the fruit, in a gracious way. Meudium bodied and a classic bitter ending. What a great wine.
