Community Tasting Notes 3

December 21, 2022 - I realize it was the end of the many years drought in California but this 2016 was just okay. Lacked a bit of character. Not much to the palette in fruit, tannin or finish. Certainly not offensive in any way but left me wanting more. I recall other vintages being a bit more interesting.

August 14, 2022 - Opaque purple with dark chocolate-purple edge in color. Cabernet dominates the nose expressing cassis, dark fruit & pyrazine. On the palate, it is fleshy with notes of cassis, cherry, black tea and a hint of sweet tobacco. Fine-grained tannins are well integrated now, perceptible on the sides of the tongue and gums. Long finish of bing cherry and wood spice.

June 12, 2022 - Rather acidic fruit was taking a back seat. Possibly in a funky stage. Maybe try again in a year.
