December 4, 2023 - First time trying this grape and I have to say it’s quite unique. Deep ruby in the glass. Nose is tight at first, but develops nicely over time - starts out with fresh red fruit, then goes to some gunpowder, garam masala, white pepper notes. On the 3rd glass it opens up to blueberry custard. Tannins on the palate hold the interest, while the high acidity prevents this wine from becoming a fruit bomb. Long, lingering finish. Beautiful wine that sparks conversation.
