May 9, 2024 - The G. Selosse Largillier only just edged it for me amongst the trinity of excellent bubbles which involved Cédric Bouchard Ursules 13 and Prevost Beguines LC19, but edged it did, and the juice was glorious to behold. Powerful nose that had the unmistakable house style, but rubbed off in a gentler way. Beneath all that brawny and dramatic nose, the wine is mineral and focused, and had beautifully chiseled finish.

Winey and mature nose, pear and some oxidative notes but much less than with Père Anselme.

Very spicy palate, dominant apple and pear with strong vinosity in the background. Very nice balance with a tension which carries this juice of very good quality. The difference in style is there, the oxidative notes are more delicate. It is especially the spicy side which brings a nice complexity. Great finale, ethereal but vibrant.

I've tasted it better than a year ago on an older disgorgement.

April 21, 2024 - Two weeks in France; 4/12/2024-4/24/2024: Don’t have much experience with Selosse but discussed with Benoit who said Guillaume is making more precise wines which are less variable than his dad’s. Golden in colour, still quite oxidative with precise citrus fruit. Good, but overall less interesting than the two stunning Gaspard Brochets.

April 3, 2024 - Nose: nutty, meat, honey, hints of green apple, dried apricot
Notes: 12.5% ABV extra brut. This perhaps would show a slight discount in terms of quality to the usually Jacques Selosse NVs but I'd argue that this is still a wonderful and delicate Champagne. Believed to be base wine from 2015 ans disgogrged November 2021. Made in a less oxidative way than the normal selosse this is quite a nice and balanced blancs de noirs with 100% pinot noir. It is in my opinion extremely difficult to make a good blanc de noirs and despite the nice complexity achieved here I still find this a tad too full and rich.
