May 11, 2024 - Bordeaux GCC 2019 horizontal tasting, wine #4. An anniversary vintage celebrating 100 years under the Casteja family. 5th growth, made from a blend of 73% CS and 27% Merlot. Average age of vines 40 years, fermented in stainless vats, aged for 18 months in oak, 50% new. Intense aroma of cassis, tobacco, earth, pencil shavings, cherries, smoke, violets, cedar, spices. Medium+ body, intense and rich with fleshy black fruit flavours, smoky and earthy notes, concluding with medium+ fine tannins and lengthy finish.
