July 5, 2023 - Beautiful Syrah. Mostly California but there is a touch of Northern Rhone style here too.

August 11, 2021 - Robust and deep cool-climate Syrah, that's still only hinting at its promise. Gave 2h air to this medium purple Syrah. Bold notes of dark cherry, red plum, truffle, leather, pepper, anise and black olive presage the equally bold experience on the palate. Dusty black fruit, hints of truffle, pepper and anise with a lingering finish. Rustic muscular tannins still need some time to resolve and hopefully will lose the small bits of stalkiness they add. Lucky find that punches well above its weight in both the 2015 and 16 vintages.

April 4, 2021 - Really aromatic out of the gate with bacon fat, some singed herbs, burned leaves, cinnamon stick, cloves, and a combo of red and black fruit, raspberry preserves, hints of blackberry. Quite a bit going on on the nose. The palate is a little more linear with fruit taking the lead a little more, the finish closes with the spice element showing through. medium+ acid, medium+ tannins, the cool climate gives this wine a leaner quality, it’s medium bodied but doesn’t at all feel thin.

This wine is really good — cool to discover a producer I didn’t know about. Good stuff.

March 9, 2021 - Medium body, garnet color. Vanilla and oak dominate the nose and palate. Some syrah behind the oak treatment. Enjoyable, but I prefer that more of the cool season syrah taste and aroma dominate, rather than the vanilla/oak.

November 4, 2020 - Love cool-climate, high altitude Syrah. This one comes from the Petaluma gap, with vineyards at 800' elevation. Aged for 24 months in mostly neutral barrels. Medium Purple color. Aromas of plum, strawberry, leather. mushroom, clove, cinnamon and cigar box. Full-bodied, creamy texture, and a skeleton of ripe, chalky tannins. Tart dark fruit and earth on the palate, with spice and cinnamon in a finish that lingers for along time.
