April 15, 2023 - Gorgeous vintage chez Gibourg. Very polished, vanilla oak, dark cherry fruit, smoke, clean, linear and mellow. 93

May 5, 2022 - Lovely, fragrant, feminine sweetness to the wine. Classic house profile. Just that much more charming than the other 3 02 nuits served alongside it today.

May 5, 2022 - 2002 Burgs (Noize): Markedly different to its flight-mates, this wine was light on its feet and had a lot of tertiary notes, including a rather offaly note on the nose ('great Burgundy smells of shit'...). Gentle, musky, smoky and savoury, then tangy and persistent. A lot of those round the table loved this, but I found it more interesting than compelling.

May 5, 2022 - Nick A's 2002 Burgundy Horizontal (Table B) (Noizé, London): Very Nuits but also very different from its flight mates. This has a heady sweet meats and almost violet florality to it. With time there is a an extra layer to the meatiness almost as if one were tucking into a steak and kidney pie and sliced into that kidney. Something in the caramel spectrum too. I think dulce de leche. Just a gorgeous wine with so much going on and a real treat. My 4th favourite wine of the night.

March 8, 2022 - From magnum. I’m a sucker for this vintage and this magnum rocked it. Dark fruit, flinty, a beauty.

(Georges Mugneret Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Chaignots") Mint, orange, cardamon, coriander, vanilla, asian spices, cassis, black cherries. Soaring aromatic nose. Wonderful. Supple mouthfeel with high toned red cherry and raspberry fruit. Tight mid-palate but a fruit explosion on the finish. Silky and spicy. So good now but I think this will reveal tremendous complexity down the road.
