August 29, 2021 - Visiting Vancouver and the Willamette Valley; 8/26/2021-8/30/2021 (Vancouver, WA and the Willamette Valley, OR): This deep-to-opaque ruby wine is a blend of 78% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot and 11% Cabernet Sauvignon, all sourced from Lonesome Spring Ranch in Yakima Valley. Offering aromas and flavors of dark bramble fruits, violets, savory herbs, leather and pipe tobacco, it is a full-bodied red with fresh acidity, seamless alcohol (listed as 14%), judicious oak and plentiful sweet tannins. Layered on the mid-palate and finishing long, this is a well-crafted Right Bank-styled wine that should get even better with a bit of cellaring. If it fleshes out as anticipated it will merit a higher score in the future. Drink 2024-2032.
