Community Tasting Notes 2

May 9, 2010 - 13% alcohol. Opened two hours prior to tasting. Medium dark ruby red (I was surprised at the depth of the color). A somewhat reticent nose of red fruit and spice. Very pleasant, mostly red fruit flavors with notes of smoke, a little spice and a touch of oak. Well balanced, lingering aftertaste. A nice wine, sort of in the riper, more California style? Better fruit, but perhaps less complexity and vibrancy than I associate with Burgundy. Reminds me just a bit of the Ketcham RRV pinot I tasted last night.
