February 23, 2024 - Very nice smell! Taste: lot's of liquorice, maybe to much. Deep, lasting taste. Price quality ratio is typical French (overpriced). But don't get me wrong:it's a good wine.
Other taste: cacao, anise, leather, alcohol, rhubarb, chicory, dry, cabbage. No sweet at all!

    I:3/4/5/6 = 18
    S:3/4/6/5 = 18

December 12, 2023 - Some finesse but nothing to go crazy about. Enjoyable everyday wine.

December 1, 2023 - I’ve always been curious about Potensac — it’s well-regarded by the critics, but those I tasted have underwhelmed. The 2019 is available at my local Costco for $24, so I gave it a try.
As others have noted, this is an old school style of Left Bank Bordeaux: no fruit bomb here. The tannins are front and center, with tobacco, black pepper, and an herbal quality, while cassis notes lurks in the background. This is a pleasant wine, but there are better options around this price point.

November 21, 2023 - It’s already drinking well but it’s definitely still in its primary phase. Ripe red berries, some green herbal notes and soft earthy notes are dominant, not a lot of dark berry notes. Some graphite in the background. The fruit pairs perfectly with a surprisingly fresh acidity. I enjoy drinking Bordeaux young if it’s not too fat or too serious. This really is fun and it’s very well balanced. Good overall complexity and a nice medium long and savory finish.
Beautiful Bordeaux blend with an amazing QPR. This is the best Potensac of the past decade in my opinion. 90 points for now but with a higher potential.
    Drink from 2024 onwards. (IG)
