August 15, 2022 - Good red fruit and lots of potpourri, even after 3 days open. Still good tannic structure.

January 8, 2022 - I decided to try a few “off ther beaten track” Italians via Coravin. This wine had been acquired to fill out a mixed case with a discount at a new not-so-local wine shop. I have had on the whole good experiences with Dogliani’s. Which is a little surprising since I rarely like Dolcetto from other regions of Piemonte. This was a classy wine with nice fruit and acidity as well as depth of flavor. It has decent structure that I think will allow it to develop nicely for a few years longer than others seem to think. I can see this drinking well into the latter half of the decade. Had this with my homemade “3 Chili” (3 beans, 3 meats, 3 chili peppers) and it was quite nice. Another nice QPR!

March 29, 2021 - I echo CCT's 11/25/2020 note that this is classic Dolcetto- light, soft, easy drinking and food friendly. Bright, clean red berries and ethereal hints of savory perfumed herbs. Disagree with JimTaft; plenty good on its own but I think his point is that this will not be your featured wine, however its lack of obvious flaws is where this wins. $16 / bottle from Empire Wine is basically stealing from them. A- evaluation (90).

March 23, 2021 - This bottle has been open a couple days now and was in and out of the refrigerator twice based on how my menu evolved.

That I am still drinking a fine wine, after all that, says a lot about this bottle.

Earthy, heady, aroma on the nose. Very high acidity lingers a good while with the (ample) fruit flirting in the background. The acidity never really gives up, and the tannins are substantial, this is a food wine and will likely never be good on its own.

Will buy this again and put in regular rotation.
