September 13, 2021 - Business dinner in DC

Overripe red and dark plums, blueberries, black cherries. Cedar, older leather and tobacco/cigar box, as well as sweet baking Spices. Soft tannins, not much acid. Pretty typical Pomerol.

Probably 2-3 years past peak; but who is complaining? Great pairing with lamb chops.

December 31, 2020 - consumed tonight with roast leg of lamb. Leather, earth, herbs are all front and center, though they overlay a core of plummy fruit. The tannins are harmonious but there's still plenty of structure for service with food.

September 18, 2016 - Barely different from my previous bottle, classic pencil lead and dark fruits with overtones of earth and leather. Still well-structured, it should go strong for years to come.

June 14, 2015 - Another inexpensive 2000 vintage winner from Bordeaux. Bottom feeding with these wines has paid off handsomely. Light brickish top with some serious umami. This wine had more fruit and texture than i expected. Chalky, chewy tannin. It still has some life ahead of it, but why wait?

May 16, 2015 - This was the best of my bottles. It had a little bricking, but the wine was a lovely mixture of soy, sun-ripened blackberry juice, and forest floor. Each sip evoked the "yum" factor as a result. This was my last bottle of a case.
