December 27, 2021 - I’d rate it an 88 on day one — but one day 3, absolutely extraordinary.

June 12, 2021 - Great bang for the buck. $20 at Costco. A great introduction to Spanish wine. It Takes 3 full hours to start showing anything but really takes off. Cab was added to Tempranillo which isn’t so normal. Dark fruit , cherry , minerals. Acidity ,tannin. A really great $20 bottle of wine.

Medium intensity aromas of red fruit (strawberry, red currant) and black fruit (black cherry, blackberry, bramble), herbal (medicinal), and oak (vanilla, charred wood, chocolate). Youthful.
Dry, medium acidity, medium plus tannins, high alcohol, medium body, medium plus intensity, medium plus finish.
Outstanding (balance, length, intensity, complexity). Can drink now, but has potential for aging.

NOSE: caramel; oak; hint of leather.

BODY: garnet-violet color of medium to medium-deep depth; medium bodied.

TASTE: young; oaky; earthy; dark-fruited; good acidity; alcohol pokes-through a bit; somewhat anonymous. Was surprised to see an 8 yo wine at the reveal --- thought it was younger. Rating: 3/5.

August 24, 2020 - A light smokiness, chamfor richness in the nose. Front palate is dry and doesn’t immediately live up to the nose but by mid palate there’s a nice grip of tannic heat muted a bit by some slight vanilla. The finish is moderate given the heft of the mid but quite peasant all the same. Dried red fruit and a soft fade of cardamom. A very different wine than most new worlders are used to :-)
