October 5, 2023 - WCC Châteauneuf-du-Pape Blind Dinner (The Chef's Table in Café Capriccio, Albany, NY): [2 hours in a decanter.] Big spicy black fruit and tar nose. Big and rich in the mouth. Long rich fruit finish. My #3 WOTN.

May 14, 2022 - St. Prefect was the producer that opened our eyes to other regions and started our shift from drinking big California wines toward French wines. Over the last 15 years our tastes have continued to change. Sometimes I wonder if that is good or bad. I enjoyed the aromas and flavors here, but I didn’t prefer the sweetish finish, and the alcohol, which was listed 14.5 seemed higher and noticeable.

April 22, 2022 - Decanted for a couple of hours. Mature, with a prunish note—no unpleasant—that tells me it's time to drink up. No barnyard, a little garrigue, rich and satisfying.

March 15, 2021 - A definite step up from 2 years ago, with the spice, dark red fruits and chocolate flavours all framed beautifully by the rich tannins. Very tasty and impressive, with scope for future growth....
